Richard has been teaching for Learning Tree since 2001. He started his Learning Tree career in the Oracle curriculum, teaching Oracle Forms and Reports and Oracle Application Server courses, before moving into a variety of Java training, specialising in web application development and the application of Spring and Hibernate.
More recently he has been involved with the development of Learning Tree’s mobile curriculum, acting as technical editor of iPhone® and iPad® Programming: A Comprehensive Hands-On Introduction and is the author of Building iPhone and iPad Applications: Extended Features.
Richard brings over twenty years of experience to his training, having worked for a diverse range of employers and clients in financial services, the oil industry, consultancy, energy, education, defense and retail.
When asked what is the key to effective training, Richard says, “I think it’s important to understand that people learn in different ways. Something that is clear to one person is confusing to another. Sometimes you have to try several keys before you unlock the door and that’s the most rewarding part of training for me–the ‘Ah, now I understand’ moment.”
